Shaw Crawls

Shaw Crawls are a great way to meet other Shavians, and enjoy a walk around some of Shaw’s iconic London locations. We organise these annually. If you’d like to join us on our next Shaw Crawl, please contact us on contact@shawsociety.org.uk. Thanks.

We have our next Shaw Crawl planned for August 25th. More details below:

Stroll through the London of George Bernard Shaw with al fresco readings featuring the wit and wisdom of the great man. We start by meeting outside his Fitzroy Square home for Shavian words and this year’s theme is Saints and Sinners. We break for drinks at a Bloomsbury watering-hole and conclude the event with a lecture from Dr Philip Wilson of UEA. Philip will put Shaw into conversation with Socrates and Wittgenstein and will demonstrate how Shaw’s plays enact philosophy, drawing on extracts from St Joan.
