'Finding St Joan" - A new play by Jonathan Croall.

Our playreading in January is Finding Saint Joan, a new play by Jonathan Croall, who will will be attending the playreading.
Jonathan Croall is a journalist, theatre historian and biographer. He has written biographies of the actors John Gielgud and Sybil Thorndike. His book The Coming of Godot: A Short History of a Masterpiece was nominated for the 2005 Theatre Book Prize. His most recent theatre books are Performing King Lear and Performing Hamlet, published by Bloomsbury in their Arden Shakespeare series. Jonathan was features editor of the Times Educational Supplement; editor of StageWrite, the magazine of the National Theatre; and programme editor at The Old Vic. He has written on education, the arts, health, history, and the environment for The Guardian, the Daily Telegraph, the Sunday Times. He is currently working on radio play about Bernard Shaw and Mrs Patrick Campbell.
Characters include GBS, Sybil Thorndike and Lewis Casson discussing the first London production of Saint Joan in 1924. Theatre director Catherine Arden will oversee the evening, giving everybody a chance to read as well as socialise and enjoy a light buffet meal.
